Apple has modified the terms of its AppleCare Plus service plans ahead of the debut of the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro devices. Previously, the plan only covered up to two incidences of accidental damage each year of coverage. The plan will now cover unlimited incidences for the duration of the policy. While this is a significant improvement, and Apple is not charging a price for it, customers will still be obliged to pay associated service fees for each event.
Although most Apple goods come with a one-year guarantee, the company does offer extended service agreements. The gadget will be covered by AppleCare Plus for any manufacturer defects as well as any accidental damage that may occur. That is, if you drop your phone and something happens to it, Apple will make an attempt to repair it. Apple will replace it if it cannot be repaired. Apple also provides AppleCare Plus with Theft and Loss, which includes everything covered in the prior plan plus coverage for a phone that has been lost or stolen.
In addition to the plan cost, service fees must be paid if something happens outside of the regular coverage. For example, under either AppleCare Plus plan, if the screen or rear glass is damaged in any way, owners must pay a service price of $29 for a repair. Apple will levy a $99 fee for any further physical damage. Finally, if your phone is lost or stolen, Apple will charge you $149. Most of these repairs can be completed on the same day if you live near an Apple Store or an approved service center. If you don't want to have your gadget repaired in-store, you may always mail it to a service facility or have a replacement shipped to you. The cost of AppleCare Plus varies depending on the phone, but it starts at $79 and may go up to $199 for a two-year plan. AppleCare Plus with Theft and Loss will cost between $149 and $269.
